Sinhala and Tamil new year

 The Sinhala and Tamil new year is an important traditional festival celebrated in Sri Lanka in April,usually on the 13th 14th.It marks the movement of the sun from pisces to Aries and symbolizes the beginning  of a new year according to the traditional solar calender.

This festival is celebrated by both Sinhalese and Tamil communities,promoting unity and cultural harmony.Families clean their homes,prepare traditional foods such as milk rice,and take part in religious activities at auspicious times.Elders bless the younger generation,and people exchange sweets and gifts.

The Sinhala and Tamil new year highlights Sri Lanka's cultural heritage,family values ,and the spirit of new beginnings.
